Deepak Chahar Recalls MS Dhoni’s Funny ‘Bilkul Mat Aana’ Reply Ahead of Indian Premier League 2026
Former Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar recently shared a hilarious exchange with his former captain MS Dhoni during an Instagram Live session ahead of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League.
Chahar, who played under Dhoni for seven years at CSK, revealed how the legendary wicketkeeper-batter jokingly gave him a cold response when he said he wanted to meet him. The right-arm pacer moved to Mumbai Indians during the IPL 2025 mega auction after being bought for ₹9.25 crore.
Chahar Shares Funny Conversation With Dhoni
During his interaction with fans on Instagram Live, Chahar recalled a recent conversation he had with Dhoni while watching celebration videos from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. India lifted their third T20 World Cup trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium, becoming the first team to win the tournament back-to-back and on home soil.
Sharing the exchange, Chahar said:
“Maine toh khud kal baat kari thi Mahi Bhai se. Unse pucha, maine kaha, ‘Mahi Bhai, main aapka video dekh raha tha, aap logo ki yaad aa rahi thi.’ Kehte, ‘Mereko toh bilkul nahi aa rahi tumhari.’ Maine kaha, ‘Main aake milta hoon.’ Kehte, ‘Bilkul mat aana!’”
The humorous remark left fans amused and highlighted the playful bond that still exists between the former CSK teammates.
Chahar’s Journey From CSK to Mumbai Indians
Chahar was a key member of the CSK setup during his time with the franchise, contributing significantly to the team’s success under Dhoni’s leadership. However, ahead of IPL 2025, he was picked up by the Mumbai Indians in the mega auction, marking a new chapter in his IPL career.
Could IPL 2026 Be Dhoni’s Final Season?
Speculation continues around whether IPL 2026 could be the final season for MS Dhoni in the league. While the veteran wicketkeeper has not officially confirmed his plans, reports suggest that the 44-year-old might reduce his workload and may not feature in every match this season.
The previous season was a challenging one for Dhoni with the bat. In IPL 2025, he scored 196 runs in 13 innings for CSK at an average of 24.5 with a strike rate below 140 numbers that sparked discussions about age catching up with the iconic cricketer.
Despite this, Dhoni remains one of the most influential figures in the league and continues to play a vital leadership role in the CSK dressing room. As IPL 2026 approaches, fans will once again look forward to seeing the legendary captain in action even if his witty replies to former teammates like Deepak Chahar remain as sharp as ever.
