Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan recently opened up about the box office failure of her film Tashan, admitting that the movie’s poor performance left her heartbroken at the time.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Kareena spoke candidly about the expectations the team had from the film and how its underperformance came as a shock. Despite the cast and crew putting in their best efforts, the film failed to make a mark at the box office.
“Tashan’s failure really broke my heart. Everyone was giving their best. They had given big blockbusters. I thought it would be amazing,” Kareena said during the interview.

The actor also recalled the strong energy and confidence the entire team had while working on the project. According to her, every member of the cast and crew believed their part in the film was exceptional, which further raised expectations.
“Everyone’s energy was on another level. Everyone thought their part was the best,” she added.
Looking back now, Kareena feels that the film may have been ahead of its time. She believes that if the film were released in today’s cinematic landscape, it might receive a better response from audiences.
“I feel like if they released Tashan now, it would work,” she said.
Released in 2008, Tashan featured a star-studded cast including Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor alongside Kareena. While the film didn’t perform well commercially at the time, it continues to be remembered for its stylish presentation and popular music.
