Jaswir Kaur Clarifies ‘Forced to Quit CID’ Remark: “It Was Black Magic, My Hair Was Cut and Buried in Ground”
Actor Jaswir Kaur has addressed the controversy surrounding her recent remarks about leaving the popular television show CID, clarifying that her comments were taken out of context.
The Context Behind Her Comments
In a recent interview with Times Now, Jaswir explained that the statements being circulated online stemmed from a discussion about personal challenges during her career, not an accusation against the show or its team.
She said, “Yes, I recently did a podcast, and it has come out in a very negative way, according to how people have understood it. If you watch the entire podcast, the topic actually came up very normally. I was asked, ‘Was there ever a time in your life when you faced a financial crisis?’ At that time, something happened to me – my hair was cut and buried in the ground, and my work was stopped. It could have been for any reason… so the topic was about black magic being done.”
Not About Being Forced Out
Jaswir stressed that she was never forced out of the show and has not blamed anyone from CID. “No one is forced. If someone has to remove a person, they simply do it. I have never spoken badly about anyone till date. What happened to me at that time – it was black magic. It could be anything. When I was asked why nobody took a stand for me, I just nodded. I didn’t complain about anyone. It’s not about CID; it’s about me and my journey.”
She further clarified that she had not discussed the matter earlier because it was never asked about at the time. The period she referred to involved personal and financial challenges, which she said are common experiences for many people.
Earlier Remarks on the Podcast
On a podcast with Subhojit Ghosh, Jaswir recalled a difficult phase in her life that impacted her career between 2010 and 2012, when she was part of CID. She said, “I was called to the office and suddenly makers told me that my attitude was wrong, my walk was bad, and that I took the script even when I didn’t have lines. They even accused me of using foul language.”
She explained that the incident coincided with what she described as a “black magic” episode, after which her work on the show was halted.
Career and Legacy
Jaswir Kaur, who has been active in Indian television for nearly three decades, is known for her diverse roles and contributions to the industry. She clarified that her statements were about her personal journey and challenges, not the CID team or production.
“I have never taken anyone’s name, made any accusations, or said that someone treated me badly,” she concluded, reaffirming that her story was about her life experiences, not the show itself.
