Model Garima Tiwari Files Complaint Against Husband Amit Mishra and His Family in Kanpur
A 35-year-old model, Garima Tiwari, has filed a complaint in a court in Kanpur against her husband, Indian Premier League (IPL) cricketer Amit Mishra, and his family, accusing them of dowry harassment, assault, and abetment to suicide, officials said on Monday.
According to the complaint, Tiwari has alleged that she was subjected to continuous mental and physical harassment by Mishra and his family members after their marriage. She claimed that the alleged harassment was linked to demands for dowry and that the situation worsened over time.
Allegations in the Complaint
In her petition filed before the Kanpur court, Tiwari accused her husband and in-laws of repeatedly pressuring her over dowry-related issues. She also alleged that she faced physical assault during the course of the marriage.
The complaint further states that the repeated harassment caused severe emotional distress, prompting her to seek legal intervention. She has also accused the accused of abetment to suicide, claiming that the circumstances created by the alleged harassment severely affected her mental health.
