Supreme Court Quashes FIR Against YouTuber Elvish Yadav in 2023 Noida Snake Venom Case
New Delhi, March 19: In a landmark ruling, the Supreme Court of India has quashed the FIR and all criminal proceedings against popular YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav in the high-profile 2023 Noida snake venom case linked to alleged rave parties.
Court Cites Procedural Lapses
Justices M. M. Sundresh and N. Kotiswar Singh highlighted serious procedural lapses in the complaint and FIR, which had been filed under the Wildlife Protection Act, the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The bench described the case as legally untenable and granted Yadav complete relief.
The verdict overturns a previous setback faced by Yadav at the Allahabad High Court, marking a significant victory for the content creator in a long-drawn legal battle.
Public Reaction and Social Media Buzz
Following the Supreme Court’s decision, fans of Yadav celebrated widely on social media, expressing relief and support. Yadav himself reportedly reacted on Instagram, sharing his gratitude and relief, which further fueled online discussions.
Background of the Case
The 2023 case had drawn widespread attention due to its sensational nature, involving alleged use of snake venom at rave parties in Noida. The FIR had implicated several individuals, but Yadav maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings, consistently challenging the legal validity of the charges.
The Supreme Court ruling now closes the case against him, providing a significant legal precedent regarding procedural lapses in complaints and FIRs filed under wildlife and narcotics laws.
