Lara Dutta Returns To India With Daughter After Being Stranded In Dubai Amid Middle East Tensions

Actor Lara Dutta has safely returned to Mumbai after being stranded in Dubai with her 14-year-old daughter during the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East. The actor opened up about the frightening experience, revealing how the conflict unfolding nearby made the situation particularly worrying for her family.

Earlier this month, Lara had shared a video on social media explaining the circumstances that compelled her to speak publicly about the situation. In a recent conversation with HT City, the actor said that while she usually avoids posting such personal updates, this time she felt it was important because her daughter’s safety was involved.

Describing the tense atmosphere around them, Lara said they were staying close to a sensitive area. “We lived just about 10 kms away from the Jebel Ali Port, which was being bombed every day,” she revealed, explaining how the sounds and reports of attacks created an atmosphere of constant anxiety.

With the situation growing increasingly uncertain, Lara decided to make the journey back to India despite the risks. She shared that the main Dubai airport was under threat during the period, prompting her to look for alternative options. “So we decided to take a chance, as I wanted to be with my husband and my family. We drove two hours to Fujairah, and just a day earlier, Fujairah port and the oil refinery had been bombed,” she said.

The actor admitted that the experience was frightening, especially with her teenage daughter by her side. Trying to lighten the tense situation, she joked about the ordeal with her co-star Akshay Kumar, saying she felt like she was “part of Airlift 2,” referencing the 2016 film about evacuations during a crisis.

Lara also revealed that authorities had advised residents to remain indoors during the most intense periods of the conflict. The uncertainty and proximity to attacks made the days particularly stressful for families living in the area.

Despite the challenges, the actor expressed relief and gratitude after finally returning safely to India. She also thanked the airline staff and authorities who helped facilitate travel during such a difficult time.

Reflecting on the experience, Lara acknowledged that the ordeal might leave a lasting impression on her daughter, but she is thankful that they managed to return home safely and reunite with their family in Mumbai.
