Rapper Badshah has landed in controversy after his latest Haryanvi music video Tateeree was removed from YouTube in India following a legal complaint. The song, which was released on March 1, 2026, on the artist’s official channel, is now unavailable in the country and has sparked widespread debate online.

Users attempting to watch the video are currently met with a notice on YouTube stating that the content is unavailable in India due to a legal complaint from the government. The removal comes shortly after objections were raised over the song’s lyrics and visuals, which some have claimed are offensive and inappropriate.

The controversy quickly gained traction on social media, with netizens expressing mixed reactions. While some defended the rapper’s artistic freedom, others criticized the content and supported the action taken against the video.

FIR registered against the rapper

According to reports, an FIR has been filed against Badshah—whose real name is *Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia—at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Sector 20, Panchkula, in **Panchkula, *Haryana.

The complaint was lodged by a local resident, Abhay Choudhry, who alleged that the music video contains obscene and objectionable material that insults women. The complaint further claims that the video features girls dressed in school uniforms along with gestures and language that are considered inappropriate.

Police have reportedly registered the case under *Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which relates to obscene acts and songs. In addition, charges have also been applied under Sections 3 and 4 of the *Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, which deal with the indecent portrayal of women in media and publications.

Investigation underway

Authorities have confirmed that an investigation into the matter is currently ongoing. The controversy has also reportedly drawn the attention of the Haryana State Commission for Women, which had earlier summoned the rapper regarding the song’s lyrics.
