Actor Trisha Krishnan has once again become the center of social media chatter after a decade-old interview of hers resurfaced online. The clip began trending shortly after the actress was seen attending a wedding reception in Chennai alongside actor-politician Vijay on March 5, 2026.

A video from the star-studded event quickly went viral, showing the two actors walking together to the stage to congratulate the newlyweds. The reception was reportedly held for the son of film producer Kalpathi S. Suresh, drawing several prominent names from the film industry.

Soon after the clip gained traction, fans began circulating an old interview of Trisha from 2016 with Indiaglitz, where she spoke candidly about her thoughts on marriage and relationships.

Trisha Krishnan on marriage and relationships

In the throwback conversation, Trisha shared that marriage was never something she felt pressured to pursue. The actress explained that she would rather stay single than enter a marriage that could eventually lead to separation.

“I want to feel whether this is the person I can live with for the rest of my life because I don’t believe in divorce. I don’t want to go in for a divorce when I get married,” she had said.

The actress added that she would carefully consider the decision before tying the knot, as she believes marriage should be built on a strong emotional foundation.

“I will think 100 times before marriage. I don’t want to end up hurting someone else or living an unhappy life,” she stated in the interview.

Looking for companionship, not pressure

Trisha also explained that companionship and emotional security are more important to her than societal expectations around marriage. According to the actor, she has seen several couples remain together due to family pressure or social norms despite being unhappy.

“I know tons of married couples around me who are in it for all the wrong reasons. They are extremely unhappy. I don’t want to be in such a marriage,” she said.

The actress further clarified that falling in love is what matters most to her, and marriage would naturally follow if she finds the right partner.

“I want to fall in love. Marriage is secondary, but I definitely want to meet my companion… I’m very particular about that,” she added.

Trisha also noted that she is willing to wait patiently for the right person and is comfortable with the idea that marriage may not happen at all if she does not find the kind of connection she is looking for.

Trisha and Vijay’s on-screen collaborations

Meanwhile, the viral wedding appearance has also reminded fans of Trisha’s long-standing professional association with Vijay. The two actors have shared screen space in several popular films, including Ghilli (2004), Thirupaachi (2005), Aathi (2006), Kuruvi (2008), Leo (2023), and The Greatest of All Time (2024).

Their recent public appearance together has once again sparked interest among fans, while Trisha’s resurfaced interview continues to fuel conversations about her personal views on love and marriage.
