Mona Singh Reacts to 3 Idiots Sequel Rumours, Says ‘Haven’t Received Any Call Yet’
3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, continues to enjoy cult status years after its release. Starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi, the film remains one of Bollywood’s most beloved classics.
In 2025, reports suggested that a sequel to the blockbuster was in the works, with plans to reunite the original cast and begin filming in 2026. However, both Aamir Khan and R. Madhavan had earlier denied being approached for the project.
Mona Singh Breaks Silence
Now, actress Mona Singh, who played Kareena Kapoor’s elder sister in the film, has also responded to the ongoing speculation.
In an interview with Screen, Mona revealed that while she has heard about the rumours, she has not received any official communication regarding a sequel.
“I also heard that, but I thought it must be a rumour because I haven’t received any call yet. The call should come. My son should be a footballer by now,” she said, laughing.
Sequel Still Uncertain
Mona’s statement adds to the uncertainty surrounding the much-talked-about sequel. With key cast members denying involvement and no official announcement from the makers, the future of 3 Idiots 2 remains unclear.
Despite the speculation, fans continue to hope for a reunion of the iconic characters that made 3 Idiots a timeless favourite. For now, however, the sequel appears to be more rumour than reality.
