Actor Kajol recently spoke about her journey in the film industry and her upcoming projects, while reflecting on some of the unconventional choices she made during her 34-year career in Bollywood. The actor revealed that she is currently exploring several scripts and ideas, although nothing has been finalised yet.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Kajol opened up about the decisions she took over the years that often went against industry norms. Despite the risks, she said she always believed in following her instincts.
One of the bold choices in her career was taking on a negative role in the thriller Gupt: The Hidden Truth, which was unusual for leading actresses at the time. Kajol also took a break from films at the peak of her career, a decision that surprised many in the industry.
Looking back, Kajol admitted that some of her choices may have seemed stubborn. “I feel I was very stubborn and foolish, and I was proved right, fortunately,” she said.
The actor also pointed out that many women make similar personal and professional choices but rarely receive recognition for them. Kajol said she has always believed in making her own decisions and standing by them, regardless of public opinion.
“I have made my own decisions, and I stand by them. I am grateful that all my eccentricities have been loved,” she added.
Over the years, Kajol has remained one of Bollywood’s most celebrated actors, known for balancing commercial success with bold and unconventional roles.
