Saira Banu Remembers Aamir Khan’s Kindness During Dilip Kumar’s Illness on His 61st Birthday
Mumbai: Veteran actress Saira Banu paid a heartfelt tribute to Aamir Khan on his 61st birthday on March 14, recalling the actor’s unwavering support during the illness of her late husband, legendary actor Dilip Kumar.
A Bond Beyond Admiration
Taking to social media, Saira shared throwback pictures featuring herself, Aamir Khan, and Dilip Kumar, highlighting the warmth and care Aamir consistently showed the family. One image captured Aamir engaged in conversation with Dilip Kumar in a living room, while another showed the trio during a cozy gathering. A recent picture also featured Aamir with Saira, accompanied by his girlfriend Gauri, during a recent visit to her home.
Saira wrote, “Just a few days ago, when Aamir Khan arrived to see me, accompanied by Gauri, my heart was filled with a warmth that only the presence of dear and familiar souls can bring.”
She described Aamir as “one of the most gracious, thoughtful and gentle person one could hope to know,” emphasizing that his admiration for Dilip Kumar was rooted in genuine affection, not mere celebrity reverence.

Reflecting on Dilip Kumar’s illness, Saira recalled, “In times of illness, when the hospital corridors felt particularly long and heavy, he was there as well offering quiet companionship and a kindness that I shall never forget.” She added, “It is such gestures, so unassuming yet so meaningful, that reveal the true measure of a person.”
Aamir also assisted Saira during the creation of Dilip Kumar’s book, providing care and guidance through a challenging process. Saira emphasized that his support extended beyond formal gestures, describing him as “close to us through moments both joyous and difficult.”
