After the success of Saiyaara, director Mohit Suri is reportedly ready to reunite with Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda for another romantic film backed by Yash Raj Films. The upcoming project is currently untitled and is said to explore love in a very different way.
According to a report by Mid-Day, the film is being described as an “unconventional and quirky love story” with a more mature approach to romance. Unlike a typical young romantic drama, the makers reportedly want the story to explore relationships with greater depth while also bringing an element of action into the narrative.
The film is expected to go on floors in October. The first schedule will reportedly be shot at an indoor set at YRF Studios in Andheri, Mumbai. The team is then expected to move to Goa in November for the next schedule, where the story will progress further.
The initial Mumbai schedule is reportedly planned around introducing the lead characters and establishing their individual worlds. The Goa schedule, meanwhile, will take the characters and their relationship forward as the main story begins to unfold.
A source quoted in the report said that producer Akshaye Widhani was clear about not wanting to make a conventional “bubblegum romance.” Instead, the makers are aiming for something more mature and unconventional, which is said to suit Mohit Suri’s filmmaking style.
The source also revealed that, unlike Saiyaara, the new film will have an action element. This combination of romance, quirky storytelling and action could give Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda an opportunity to explore a different side of their performances.
The collaboration has naturally created curiosity because Saiyaara brought Ahaan and Aneet together on screen under Mohit Suri’s direction and became a major talking point among young audiences. Their reunion with the filmmaker is therefore expected to attract considerable attention.
If the shooting schedule remains on track, the film is reportedly expected to be completed by December. However, the title, detailed plot and release date are yet to be officially announced.
For now, fans will have to wait for more information about the project, but the promise of a mature love story with action and an unconventional twist has already made Mohit Suri’s next film one to watch out for.
