Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt has spoken out about the devastating floods in Assam, urging people to come together and help those affected by the ongoing crisis. Taking to Instagram Stories, the actor expressed her concern over the widespread destruction and appealed to her followers to support relief efforts on the ground.
In her heartfelt message, Alia pointed out that although Assam faces floods almost every year, the scale of the devastation continues to shock the country.
Alia Appeals for Immediate Help
Sharing her thoughts on social media, Alia said that several parts of India are battling floods, with Assam among the worst affected. She highlighted the massive loss of life and property, noting that lakhs of people have been displaced while countless families have lost their homes, farmland, livestock and even loved ones.
She also expressed disappointment that despite recurring floods every monsoon, the country still seems unprepared to deal with the disaster.
Calling for urgent action, Alia said Assam needs immediate relief as well as long-term support for rehabilitation and rebuilding. She added that over the coming days she would share information about organisations working on the ground so people can contribute to relief efforts. Assam Continues to Battle Severe Floods
The flood situation in Assam remains serious, with thousands of families still struggling to recover. Heavy monsoon rains have submerged hundreds of villages, damaged homes, roads and schools, and disrupted daily life across several districts.
Thousands of people have been forced to move into relief camps after floodwaters entered their homes. Agriculture has also suffered extensive losses, leaving many families without their primary source of income.
Relief and rescue operations are continuing across the affected areas, with state authorities receiving assistance from the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force to reach stranded residents.
