Singer Armaan Malik has decided to postpone the release of his upcoming song “Gaya Kaam Se” amid the ongoing protests and unrest surrounding the student movement in Delhi. The singer announced that he would delay the launch because the current situation did not feel like the right time to celebrate a new release.
The song was scheduled to release on July 22, which also coincided with Armaan Malik’s birthday. However, the singer chose to put the release on hold, saying he wanted to share the track with fans when the atmosphere was more positive.
Armaan Malik Explains Decision
Taking to social media, Armaan shared a video message explaining why he decided to postpone the song.
The singer said that he had invested a lot of emotions and effort into “Gaya Kaam Se”, but the ongoing situation in the country made him feel that this was not the appropriate moment for a celebration.
“I poured my heart into it and it is scheduled to release on 22nd July, which is also my birthday. But things just don’t feel right now, and I feel like I want to wait a little longer and give it to you when the time feels right and when we’re in better circumstances,” Armaan said.
He also requested fans to understand his decision and assured them that the song would be released at a more suitable time.
Singer Earlier Supported Student Protesters
This is not the first time Armaan Malik has spoken about the ongoing student protests. Earlier, the singer had expressed his support for students demanding fairness and accountability.
Sharing his thoughts on social media, Armaan said that while he did not claim to have all the answers, some values should always be protected, including fairness for students, respect for peaceful protests, and the importance of dialogue.
He emphasized that young people deserve to be heard and that empathy should not depend on personal opinions or circumstances.
Protests Over Education Issues Continue
Armaan Malik’s decision comes amid growing attention around the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) ongoing protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
The protests began over allegations of irregularities in the education system, including claims related to NEET examination leaks. Demonstrators have been demanding accountability and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Social activist Sonam Wangchuk also joined the protest and began an indefinite hunger strike, drawing further attention to the movement.
Tensions During ‘Chalo Sansad’ March
The situation escalated during the CJP’s “Chalo Sansad” march, when thousands of protesters attempted to move towards Parliament.
Police used lathicharge and tear gas to control the crowd after protesters allegedly crossed barricades. The protesters accused authorities of using excessive force, while police maintained that action was taken to manage the situation and maintain law and order.
Several public figures have spoken about the incident, expressing concern over the treatment of students and calling for dialogue.
Celebrities Extend Support
Apart from Armaan Malik, several personalities from the entertainment industry have reacted to the protests. Actors, musicians, and public figures have shared messages supporting peaceful discussions and raising concerns about students’ demands.
With Armaan Malik postponing his song release as a mark of sensitivity towards the current situation, the singer has once again highlighted the role of artists in responding to social issues.
Fans are now waiting for the new release date of “Gaya Kaam Se”, while Armaan hopes to launch the song at a time when celebrations feel more appropriate.
