Television Actor Sanchita Ugale Dies By Suicide, Police Launch Investigation

The television industry is mourning the loss of young actor Sanchita Ugale, who allegedly died by suicide at the age of 22. Best known for playing Diya Tandon in the popular TV show Kumkum Bhagya, Sanchita had slowly built a name for herself through her work in television and films.

According to police officials, the incident took place on Sunday evening at her residence in Nallasopara, Maharashtra’s Palghar district. She was reportedly alone at home when the incident occurred. After receiving information, the Achole police reached the spot and began an investigation.

Officials said that no suicide note was recovered from the scene and that nothing suspicious was immediately found during the initial inspection. Based on a statement given by Sanchita’s father, who reportedly said that he does not suspect any foul play or hold anyone responsible, the police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR). The exact reason behind the tragic step is still being investigated.

Sanchita had become a familiar face among television viewers through her role as Diya Tandon in Kumkum Bhagya. In earlier interviews, she had described the show as a turning point in her career, saying that it gave her recognition and opened new opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Apart from Kumkum Bhagya, she was also part of the family drama Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kisse and later played the lead role in Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi. Her acting journey was not limited to television. She also worked in films and portrayed the younger version of Tara Rani in Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava. She was also seen alongside Manoj Bajpayee in the investigative thriller Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout.

What has made the news even more heartbreaking for many fans is that Sanchita had shared a cheerful Instagram video just a few hours before her death. In the clip, she was seen dancing to the popular song Radha from Student of the Year, smiling and enjoying the moment. The video is now being widely shared by fans, who are remembering her as a talented and lively young artist.

The news of her death has shocked many people in the television industry and among her admirers, with several social media users expressing grief over the loss of a promising talent whose career had only just begun.
