Vijay later shared pictures from the event on social media, featuring Rashmika along with his parents. Expressing his happiness, he wrote that the first year of the scholarship programme had been completed successfully and that they had reached 180 students from 45 schools.
He also promised to make the initiative even bigger in the coming years.
“Another good day. Just wrapped year one of scholarships to 45 schools and 180 students. I look forward to seeing you all again in 2027 and making it bigger,” Vijay shared.
Speaking at the event, the actor said that while the scholarship may be a small contribution, he wants to become a part of the students’ journeys and dreams.
“Giving this scholarship is a small gesture, but it is important to me. I want to be a part of your lives. Slowly, after my village, I hope this initiative can spread across Telangana. This is my dream,” Vijay said.
Before the event, he had also shared the names of the selected students and revealed that the idea of the scholarship programme was something he and Rashmika had planned together.
