The trailer launch of Welcome To The Jungle turned into an emotional occasion when Akshay Kumar paused the celebrations to remember his late friend and co-star Pankaj Dheer. While introducing the star-studded comedy, the actor paid a heartfelt tribute to Dheer, whose final on-screen appearance will be in the film.
Addressing the audience at the event, Akshay spoke about the special bond he shared with the veteran actor. He recalled that Pankaj Dheer was a part of his very first film, Saugandh (1991), where the veteran played the main antagonist.
“Main aapko yeh batana chahta hoon… Pankaj Dheer Sahab meri pehli film mein mere saath the. Woh meri pehli film ke villain the aur jaise ki aap sab jaante hain, yeh unki aakhri film thi. I just want to mention about him. I love you Pankaj, wherever you are,” Akshay said, visibly emotional.

The touching moment resonated with everyone present, as the two actors had shared a professional and personal friendship spanning several decades. With Welcome To The Jungle marking Pankaj Dheer’s last film, Akshay’s tribute added an emotional layer to what was otherwise a fun-filled trailer launch.
Along with remembering his late friend, Akshay also unveiled the trailer of the much-awaited comedy entertainer. Sharing it on social media, he wrote, “Tension Out, Jungle Madness in! The ultimate stress buster is here to hijack your worries.”
The film promises a grand adventure packed with comedy, chaos, mistaken identities and over-the-top situations that have become the trademark of the Welcome franchise.
Welcome To The Jungle features a massive ensemble cast led by Akshay Kumar, with Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda among others.
Veteran actors Farida Jalal, Sudesh Berry, Puneet Issar and the late Pankaj Dheer also play important roles in the film.
Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwallah, Rakesh Dang and Vedant Vikaas Baali, Welcome To The Jungle is the third instalment in the popular comedy franchise. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on June 26, 2026.
While the trailer brought plenty of laughter and excitement, it was Akshay Kumar’s emotional remembrance of Pankaj Dheer that became one of the most memorable moments of the event, reminding everyone of a friendship that began with his debut film and lasted a lifetime.
