Abhishek Sharma equals Virat Kohli’s milestone
Abhishek Sharma etched his name into elite company by scoring his 9th T20 century in just 184 innings, becoming the fastest Indian to reach the landmark. He now stands level with Virat Kohli in T20 centuries achieved, though Kohli reached the mark in 403 innings.
Only Chris Gayle, with 22 centuries, remains ahead in the overall T20 list, followed by Babar Azam (12) and David Warner (10).
Power-hitting masterclass: Six-hitting spree continues
The SRH opener also continued his reputation as one of the most destructive batters in modern T20 cricket. He smashed 10 or more sixes in an innings for the fifth time in his career, moving to second place in this elite list behind Chris Gayle.
This was also the second instance in the IPL where Abhishek struck 10+ sixes in a single innings, making him only the second player after Gayle to achieve the feat multiple times. He also crossed the milestone of 350 sixes in T20 cricket.

New IPL high score and record dominance
Abhishek’s unbeaten 135 further strengthened his growing legacy in the IPL. With this knock, he surpassed KL Rahul’s 132* and once again featured among the highest individual scorers in IPL history.
He now holds four instances of 130+ scores in T20 cricket—more than Aaron Finch and Chris Gayle, who have achieved it three times each.

Match-changing fielding brilliance
Abhishek was equally impactful in the field, producing two game-changing catches that shifted momentum in SRH’s favour:
- He first dismissed KL Rahul at deep backward square after a mistimed shot.
- Shortly after, he took a stunning sliding catch at long-on to send back Nitish Rana.
Both wickets came at crucial stages and halted DC’s chase momentum.
Axar Patel’s milestone match
Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel also marked a personal milestone, playing his 100th T20 match for the franchise. Having been a key figure since 2019, he was retained for ₹16.50 crore ahead of the mega auction and was appointed captain on March 14, 2025.
Dropped catch proves costly
A turning point came when Nitish Rana dropped Abhishek Sharma at 86 runs. Attempting a difficult catch at deep point, Rana initially got both hands to the ball but failed to hold on—granting Abhishek a crucial lifeline.
Emotional century celebration
Abhishek eventually reached his century in style, smashing a six off the second ball of the 14th over. He celebrated with folded hands before dedicating the milestone to his sister, who was unable to attend the match due to an infection.
The emotional moment was warmly received in the stadium, with Abhishek’s father visibly proud in the stands. SRH owner Kavya Maran also stood up to applaud the achievement in a heartfelt gesture.
Heinrich Klaasen reaches six-hitting milestone
Adding to SRH’s dominant night, Heinrich Klaasen completed 100 IPL sixes, further strengthening the team’s explosive batting reputation.
