Vijay Varma Breaks Silence on Online Hate, Says “Too Many Lies” and Excessive Personal Comments Post Breakup With Tamannaah Bhatia
Actor Vijay Varma has spoken candidly about the growing negativity and personal nature of online commentary, reflecting on how public discourse has changed in recent years following his reported split with actress Tamannaah Bhatia.
Varma and Tamannaah began dating in 2023 and were together for around two years before parting ways. While neither officially confirmed the breakup, widespread speculation and media reports suggested differences in expectations about their future together.
In a recent interview with News18, Vijay Varma addressed the emotional toll of constant public scrutiny and the nature of social media interactions. He said that online communication today has become “excessive, direct and personal,” adding that people often spread misinformation and false narratives without accountability.
He remarked that the current environment around public figures has drastically changed, noting that criticism and abuse are now more openly directed at individuals without consequence. According to him, there is often more negativity amplified than support offered in response.
“The way people communicate and write comments is a little too excessive, direct and personal,” he said, adding that there is “too much fabrication and too many lies” circulating about public personalities.
Varma also reflected on his earlier decision to step back from the public eye, explaining that he needed a break from constant scrutiny. He shared that while he would have preferred complete silence, it is nearly impossible for public figures to escape attention in today’s digital age.
Earlier, in a conversation with HT City, he had also spoken about the difficulty of maintaining privacy, stating that he was not attempting to avoid the media but simply needed space. He noted that even without giving interviews, his presence in the public discourse continued regardless of his efforts.
Despite the challenges, Vijay Varma continues to stay active professionally. He is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming OTT project Matka King, and will also appear in Family Business alongside Anil Kapoor. His most recent theatrical release was Gustaakh Ishq in 2025.
