Akshay Kumar Opens Up: Feels ‘Chhota Mehsoos’ Around Highly Educated People
New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar recently revealed on his reality show Wheel of Fortune that he sometimes feels insecure or “chhota mehsoos” in front of highly educated people.
What Happened
During the episode, the actor praised contestant Sonali for her education and said,
“Koi bhi insaan, khaaskar mujh jaisa jo zyada padha-likha nahi hai, main kabhi-kabhi bahut chhota mehsoos karta hoon aap jaise logon ke saamne.”
He added,
“Kabhi-kabhi main sochta hoon mujhe padhna chahiye. Ab mehsoos hota hai ki kaash main padha hota. Lekin ab jab padhna chahta hoon tab bhi nahi padh sakta, kyunki mujhe padhna achha hi nahi lagta, bas itni si baat hai.”
When he asked Sonali what she plans to do with so many degrees, she replied,
“Sir, dekhiye in degrees ki wajah se hi mujhe yahan khade hone ka mauka mil raha hai aur aapse doosri baar milne ka bhi mauka mila hai.”
Akshay responded,
“Main bas yeh kehna chahta hoon ki padho, padhna bahut zaruri hai. Mujh jaise ko follow mat karo, Sonali jaise log ko follow karo.”
On Twinkle Khanna
Akshay also spoke about his wife, author and actress Twinkle Khanna, praising her for writing four books and working on her fifth.
“Aap vishwas nahi karenge, maine ek bhi kitab nahi padhi hai. Jab bhi main padhne baithta hoon, pata nahi kya hota hai, aankhon se aansu nikalne lagte hain,” he said humorously.
Twinkle Khanna holds a Master’s degree in Fiction Writing from Goldsmiths, University of London, completed in 2024.
On the Work Front
Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Priyadarshan’s film Bhoot Bangla, alongside Wamiqa Gabbi.
Through these candid remarks, Akshay Kumar shows that even superstars can feel “small” around highly educated individuals, and he encouraged everyone to keep learning, emphasizing the importance of education and self-improvement.
