The deadly accident occurred when a private bus collided with a tipper lorry and caught fire in Prakasam district. The tragedy claimed the lives of at least 13 people, while several others sustained injuries, prompting large-scale rescue and relief operations.

Local authorities and emergency services rushed to the scene immediately, evacuating passengers and transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. Preliminary reports suggest that over-speeding and poor visibility may have contributed to the collision, although investigations are still underway.

Officials have called for strict adherence to road safety norms and have urged drivers and transport operators to take necessary precautions, especially on busy highways and during long-distance travel.

The announcement of the ex-gratia by PM Modi comes as a measure to provide financial relief to the affected families and assist with medical and post-accident expenses.
