Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan recently spoke candidly about his relationship with wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, sharing insights into their marriage and admitting that he can be emotionally dependent at times. The actor revealed that their relationship works because of mutual understanding, affection and emotional support.
Saif opened up about his personal life during a conversation with his sister, Soha Ali Khan, on her podcast. Reflecting on his past relationships, the actor acknowledged that he had not always felt settled or happy earlier in life. However, he now considers himself fortunate to have found a strong partnership with Kareena.
“I am very lucky that my wife and I have been on the same page,” Saif said, adding that maturity, kindness and a shared outlook on life have helped keep their relationship strong.
Speaking about emotional needs in relationships, Saif described himself as someone who sometimes seeks attention and affection from his partner. He also connected this tendency to one’s upbringing and early family experiences.
“I can be emotionally needy, but it depends… because of the conditioning and the relationship we had with our parents. In a relationship, sometimes your partner helps deal with those issues,” he explained.
The actor further shared that when a person feels confident and content in their own life, emotional dependence tends to reduce. According to Saif, a healthy partnership requires not only love and intimacy but also a deep connection between partners.
Saif and Kareena have been married for over a decade and are parents to two sons. The actor believes their relationship continues to thrive because of their mutual affection, understanding and the ability to share those values within their family.
